Marie Pironneau, Dip Nut CNM, NgC, mIFM, mNMTF
I am a qualified nutritional therapist from the College of Naturopathic Medicine of Edinburgh and a certified nutrigenetic counsellor.
I completed the AFMCP (Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice) course from the IFM (Institute of Functional Medicine) in October 2018.
I have always had a great interest in how the body works and how the food we eat impacts how we feel.
I grew up in Paris and then lived in New York and in London before moving to Scotland and studying in Edinburgh.
I ran a private practice in Glasgow until 2019 when I embarked on a Scandinavian adventure, first spending a year in Copenhagen and now living in Sweden.
My approach:
Through years of practice, I have identified the changes that make the most significant impact on my clients.
Being French, I put a huge emphasis on the fact that food is pleasure so I will always make sure my recommendations are delicious and enjoyable. Otherwise, the changes won’t be sustainable.
No-one improves their health by doing and eating things they hate.
My biggest focus is on food quality. I do not believe that anyone can be truly healthy eating supermarket food. Yes, it is a big shift, but it is 100% worth it.
I use a very pragmatic and methodical approach; and a lot of common sense.
I use fundamental, timeless principles rather than everchanging diet trends.
I challenge the idea of “normal” and encourage critical thinking.
I am very radical and straightforward.
We now have access to amazing tools that were still science fiction up until recently like DNA testing, which I love to use, however, I will always start by implementing diet and lifestyle changes.
At no point will you be judged for your lifestyle and habits, we have all made some choices that had a negative impact on our health, knowingly or not. My aim is to empower you to make the choices that are best for you now and in the future.
My special interests and areas of expertise:
-Female hormones
-Male and female fertility/preconception
-Recovery from extreme diets
-Digestive issues/IBS
